Though you may not be able to tell from my accent, I was born in Brooklyn and lived in New York until I was 18 years old when I decided to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Education at McGill University. For the last five years, I have been studying education and training to become a high school Math or English teacher. Growing up, Math and English were always my favourite subjects. Having had the fortune of being taught by some incredible teachers, I strongly believe that teachers have the ability to inspire students in a way that no one else can. That is what I hope to instill in my students every session. I knew teaching was a passion of mine from a young age. I began tutoring in my sophomore year of high school (making that a total of 8 years now), and since then have developed a very hands-on style of tutoring. I myself was tutored in Math throughout elementary school so I understand the impact that tutoring can have on a student. It’s impossible for students to always get the attention they need and deserve inside a classroom, and that is part of why I think tutoring is so essential. I am a GradeSlam tutor because I love seeing students succeed, and I love being part of that success. GradeSlam’s online tutoring platform is excellent, it allows me to help students no matter where I am, and makes connecting with my students hassle-free. GradeSlam in one word? Convenience.
