"I believe that if I can help the student understand what it is they are doing and why, this attitude will foster a better, more efficient learning experience. "

I have been involved with helping students for several years. As a student at Concordia (where I am now pre-med), I was a teaching assistant for a Linguistics course, and was a part of Concordia University’s 56th Garnet Key Honours Society. As a member of this society, I helped organize educational events for students and alumni, as well as created an education mentorship program for struggling high school students. I know what it’s like to feel helpless with subjects that seem impossibly difficult, making me anxious and stressed about my education and future. The ability to help reduce these feelings of anxiety and stress and help a student towards their own success and inner confidence is invaluable. Learning something new is overwhelming and intimidating. I believe that if I can help the student understand what it is they are doing and why, this attitude will foster a better, more efficient learning experience. The world we live in is so vast that the more we know about our surroundings and history, the more meaning we can apply to our own lives. GradeSlam in one word? Now
